Ch. Cranstal Incandescence - aged 3.
A wonderful and highly successful show girl,
but most of all a joyous companion
Shala left us on the morning of 17th September at the age of
11 1/2 as her quality of life had diminished over the preceeding few days.
She was diagnosed with oral cancer on 18th December last year - with an initial
prognosis of 6 weeks to 2 months, We have spent the summer months feeling
that we were very lucky people.
Shala has had a wonderful summer doing Shala's
favourite things like digging, eating, barking at birds - and walking with
us, her children and her grandson
when she felt like it. We are trying very hard to remember that now. She
truly was absolutely everything that we could have wished for from a saluki
- and I cannot imagine our lives without Shala at the centre of them.
Two
people who contributed significantly to the quality of Shala's life over
the last nine months were Karl Bovenizer, our Vet, and Anne Lumley of Brookfields
Kennels where Shala was so very well looked after whenever we were off
the Island. Our gratitude to both of them for the care and affection that
they
have extended to Shala knows no bounds.
